Most important task during surgery; severe bleeding must be controlled as soon as possible to save life!

Doing this job, called hemostasis, the surgeon stares down in utmost concentration to stop the bleeding, getting splashed on his safety mask. Sometimes very difficult to locate and control, time goes by and transfusion might be necessary as support for the blood circulation.

How will this come to an end…?

Hybrid art is applied in this painting using salt flakes incorporated in the paint on the forehead symbolizing the sweat that may be encountered in difficult procedures.

Also, some real blood of the painter (blood group A-positive) has been mixed in the red paint of the transfusion symbolizing the part of life that has been invested in these life-saving task.
